A-1 Masonry and Construction, Inc. was established in 1998, Kevin Ward started the company with a family of 4 and had a desire to impact his family and success in entrepreneurship. He started the company with an old Ford F 150 pick up truck, a bag of mason tools, a wheel barrel and business cards and hit the road. Kevin has always been very skilled with his hands to build and be responsive to creativity, he has the knowledge and wisdom of all phases of construction, carpentry, masonry, excavating, restoring of old, and new construction.

In 2012 A-1 Masonry became incorporated with a vision to grow the company and grow people, and on boarded commercial jobs in the mix of residential. With the commercial work he learned how to manage large jobs and worked with the structural engineers. With the diversities of  Covid-19  there were ownership changes and the company became a partnership with Laura Ward, his wife as a woman owned company.

A-1 Masonry’s  Mission is to give men and women life long skills that will benefit a person for the rest of their lives, and to be part of a team environment, to  build leaders in the field who are not afraid to step out and learn a trade, time management, to rise above adversity and to learn that your past doesn’t dictate your future. To teach trade skills to people who want to learn, and to build members of the team who may already have the skills but haven’t found a home team yet to build with. 

To show  people as with Kevin and Laura’s humble beginnings that hard work and determination to rise and succeed and find the work life balance, all things are possible if you have the right mind set, work ethic, and an attitude to never give up..
